Mgr. Kateřina Vondráčková, B.A. is a graduate of the master’s programme in History at the University of Hradec Králové, Faculty of Arts, where she is also currently preparing for her rigorous (PhDr. degree) examination. Before, she completed her bachelor’s in double-degree programme Czech-German Studies at the Charles University, Faculty of Social Sciences. For the past five years, she has devoted her historical research to the issue of the reception of North Korean children and students by Czechoslovakia during the Korean War. She also focuses on the broader question of the political and ideological role of children in history, with a particular emphasis on the 20th century. At present, she is employed at the General Directorate of the National Heritage Institute, where she heads the Department of Heritage Information Systems.

In the CSSR-Korea project, Kateřina focuses on north Korean orphans and students in Czechoslovakia in the 1950-1960s and its subsequent topics.
